“How are they catching the shield?” Eric please just suspend your belief for every Marvel show/movie. For the love of god.
Boom keeps mentioning that Wyatt Russell is Kurt Russell’s son, but his mother is also Goldie Hawn, which makes Kate Hudson his half-sister
"Two Avengers Repair a Boat" is legitimately my favorite episode of the series. There's a level of humanity in this episode that you so rarely get in the superhero genre.
No spoilers, but I hate Valentina with a fiery passion.
I’ll say it Steve Rogers would’ve helped Walker and that’s why Sam nor Bucky should get the shield it should’ve actually been retired with iron man
Taking the serum doesn’t really work like the vampire thing. Normally the most recent version of the serum made is the strongest so technically John (Captain America) has the strongest version of the serum, that combined with the military training makes him pretty op
I know will smith kinda played himself out but is there any steam behind a Hancock reaction I miss those old style one off superhero films, I would also be cool with chronicle!
i know it won't be for a while, but i cannot wait until you guys get to thunderbolts!!!
Before the reshoots they story had the super soldier serum connected to a virus that was spreading around the world killing people. You can see some boxes saying "vaccine" in an early episode in a truck the flag smashers were stealing. A lot of the plot was centered around this virus and the vaccines the flag smashers were trying to steal. This was supposed to come out before Wandavision to kick off phase 4 but after Covid they knew they had to change the plot significantly so a lot of this got cut up and reshot in a few months all under lockdown.
The way that everything Isaiah said was right about a black man being Captain America cause a lot of Marvel fans never used to hate Sam till he was given the shield & all of a sudden they hate him now. There’s been a huge discourse over the fact that Steve chose him to be Captain America even though that’s who he was destined to be.
My only problem with Sam as Captain America was that speech in the last episode that I died a little inside listening to. The struggle of black people was so gracefully handled in the rest of the series and Isaiah's speech nearly made me cry in this one episode, so I was really hoping they would do a really meaningful and well-written speech for Sam to say once he eventually takes up the mantle, but it's just so cliché I cringed all the way through.
I like him as Captain America (I’m a white man too)
Oh Bree sweet summer child Game of Thrones would KILL her😂😭
Imagine her watching Welcome to Derry 😬
i was just thinking it would be cool for Brie to join the HOTD reactions, but this reminded that is definitely a bad idea cuz some scenes might actually make her pass out
This episode was just amazing
I can't wait til you guys watch Brave New World
Isaiah ain't say one lie. Black folk have been used as lab rats for over 100 years. Watching this again especially rn hit so hard
wait whats happening rn
made me get choked up too close to home
Finally figured out what Bucky Sam friendship reminding me of.
PSYCH Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster
The SamBucky is killing me, do you mean he wraps his arm around him from behind on the boat? What do you mean, they kiss the shoulder where they touched? What do you mean they fly off into the sunset? He kisses him behind the ear? Don’t….stop. Don’t stop lol
Yall watching this series made me reignite my sambucky love lol been readin fics after every reaction
The shield doesn't belong to the government because it was made from vibranium gifted to Howard Stark from the Wakandans, who legally own all vibranium that comes from their country. It's why on of the Dora who had picked up the shield when they beat Walker's ass was ready to take it but then only put it down when Ayo told her to leave it. In all actuality, to the Wakandans, if its not in the hands of a Stark or Steve Rogers, they don't have any right to keep it and if they make too much of a deal about it, Wakandan can take it back. It's not expressively said in the movies but is in the comics, there are just story telling hints throughout the movies and show.
That's why it bounces though, vibranium produces sound waves. Why in the first Avengers it made that shockwave when Thor hit it with Mjolnir. But its still a chunk of solid metal, could definitely be used as a blunt instrument.
Something to note: The shield that is in this show is not the original shield from Phase One to Phase Three as the original was destroyed by Thanos. This shield in this show is from an alternate timeline, the main difference is the star in the center
Which is why it bothers me that Sam thought it belonged to someone else. Like, I totally get where he's coming from, but bro, Steve most likely had that thing MADE for you in particular. It's yours. Period.
I think the legal grey area that Allegra was talking about was that the shield was property of the Strategic Science Reserve who was the predecessor to S.H.I.E.L.D. They were an organization of the government but got dissolved because of the events in Winter Soldier. Who takes up the assets of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Were they properly assigned to other orgs like the FBI, CIA, etc? It's government property but WHERE exactly or WHO exactly IN the government? Now I could be wrong and maybe Howard Stark owns it and lent it out to the SSR or something. Could also be that Howard was or wasn't an employee. Was he an official employee, contractor, consultant etc?
Hey, I did sorta answer this in my comment above. All vibranium that comes from Wakanda belongs to Wakanda, Howard made the shield with what was gifted to him so technically, the Wakandans can just take it back. And there are little clues all over to suggest it, like when the Dora hesitated when she took the shield after beating up Walker but Ayo told her to put it down. The government can claim since it was donated to he Smithsonian its government property but that will fall apart real quick if the Wakandans get involved.
im living for the sambucky comments 😂
It's crazy how Isaiah did the literal same thing as Steve did being disobeying orders to go rescue is comrades from a POW camp and the difference in how they were each treated after is still so haunting to me
this my favorite epispde of the show idk why
It's the kind of thing you can only get from a superhero television series. Films can take some quiet time and focus on character building, but as superhero movies you can never spend this long just focusing on these particular moments.
It's such a 'chill' episode, but just seeing Sam and Buck living their lives and connecting. It's so good.
After the insanity of the previous episode it works
i like to ask you, Dont React to She-Hulk or Secret Invasions TV Show,
wait? watch She-Hulk
you might enjoy it when you get there
I would have enjoyed She-Hulk if the dialogue was written better. The story is clearly meant as a more light-hearted fun, but the 'female struggle' parts are just handled very poorly. If they truly wanted to bring that issue into the show, they should have handled it gracefully like they did here with black people and not make a mockery of it. The fact that it's present in the show to the extent it is brings it down immensely. It is not a real commentary on the topic, it's over the top critique. Which would be fine, if they handled it in a way that was funny, as was clearly intended, and not in a way that makes most viewer cringe at most of the lines they make the characters say on the topic.
They're doing the entire MCU
Personally, I think they'll enjoy She-Hulk enough. I think they might dislike Secret Invasion though. But I'd imagine they'll still watch it.
I can see them having a fun time with She-Hulk. It's not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. It has It's issues but has It's fun moments
I loved She Hulk
It's only really the ending and the terrible treatment of Hulk as character that bothered me. Also, She-Hulk herself was kinda unlikeable.
What terrible treatment of Hulk?
Well, I personally didn't like the fact that she was so mean to him, when was just trying to help. He had his experiences with the hulk alter-ego so it was understandable for him to think she would struggle in same ways he did. The fact she handled it better than him, because she's more experience in controlling her emotions is a good plot point and they could have tied it well to her being a woman in a 'man's job', but she didn't need to act like that towards her cousin when all he was trying to do was to keep her safe and make her experience better than his was. They could have kept her anger at the 'men think they know better' to other situations where it applies more, than to a situation where reasonably Bruce has far more experience with the situation than she does.
My whole problem with the show is that the main heroine keeps kicking around herself at anybody who wants to help her in any way, which would be fine if the show didn't frame it like she in the right most of the time and in the end learned nothing about how to accept help when she needs it.
With all the Superhero stuff going on the channel, it surprises me you guy's haven't watched a Dispatch video or played it yourself. It's really good! There are even videos on YouTube without commentary cause the story and visuals are just amazing
Lol bro I forgot how Walker was doing them 2v1 before they get his arm.
It still shocks me how 3 times he tried to kill them with the shield. Just straight up wanted to murder Sam.
