Despite the Finale being commonly interpreted as a cliffhanger, Khary Payton has stated that the lack of closure is intentional, stating that when Cartoon Network told the crew that the show would be ending with Season 5 the crew decided to end on a story that would teach the last lesson a teenager needs to learn: "Maybe there was some closure that you wanted, but y'know what? Life doesn't work that way. Once you become an adult, life doesn't work that way, and sometimes you've just gotta learn to move on. Yes, there's unanswered questions, but they're unanswered for a reason, and so literally, if we did a season 6, that lesson means nothing." Additionally, Rob Hoegee has stated that "Had a season 6 been a serious possibility, we wouldn't have ended season 5 the way we did.", and "We also knew that season five would be the last one. This was from the very beginning. Also the reason we ended with "Things Change"
Also the creators confirmed that she was indeed the real Terra
While Glen Murakami has stated that the school girl's identity wasn't the point of the episode, in the last conversation between them, 'Terra' makes the comment to Beast Boy that things "were never the way you remember" after he states that the old Terra used to be so happy. This combined with her comment "things change. The girl you want me to be is just a memory" implies that this may, in fact, not only be the real Terra, but she remembers everything from her past. However, she is no longer the old Terra that Beast Boy once knew. This also seems to be confirmed by the episodes model sheet for her.

Maybe not the actual show, but i really want to see yall watch Teen Titans Go To The Movies.
But as someone who actually watches Teen Titans Go i'm convinced people mostly hate it because it isn't Teen Titans Season 6. I remember when they first announced Teen Titans Go i was upset because i thought they were making a mockery of my childhood, but i got over my prejudice after watching it and realizing it's not trying to replace the other show, nor could it. Like TTG isnt as good as this show but it's not THAT bad for what it is, i mean- is it goofy-silly? hell yeah. is it high-key a content farm? Oh, fo sho, but it's not like it existing prevented season 6 from coming out or something. My dad usually only watches horror movies and Looney Tunes because "they don't make cartoons like they used to" but he will watch the F$!%# out of some Teen Titans Go.
if i had to recommend anything it would be to do batman the animated sires. and slowly work through the DCAU shows.

The male/female marketing thing is so weird, because if I look back at what I watched, a lot of it had female protagonists...of course I got called a sissy but powerpuff girls? juniper lee?...come on man.
It's funny that people market female leads and diversity and they did it better in the past without the hollow marketing.

Just to clerify they knew that this was gonna be the final episode and no it's not designed as a cliffhanger. They actors and writers have gone on record saying that this was an intended ending. And the point of it is about moving on.

i honestly really love the last episode, but my take is that you can’t consume it like you would a regular teen titans episode, so i completely understand why it left people feeling unsatisfied. the episode uses a lot more symbolism than previous episodes. the monster they’re fighting isn’t supposed to be a new villain that’s another loose end left untied - it’s supposed to be representative of change itself. there was some stop light imagery, maybe representing endings? and there was a lot of physical space between BB and terra throughout the whole episode. terra and slade coming back kind of draw us into this sense of wanting more, but i honestly feel like it was the writers’ way of telling us, “even if you want more, it’s over, things change, move on.” not the most satisfying ending for everyone though of course, but it is a strong message to leave the viewers with - tackling change and grief is one of the most pivotal parts of stepping into being an adult.
lol that ending of 13 we were pissed and imagine my surprise to hear of a reboot… 11-12 ?? so good my og endgame. Young justice was an amazing transition from this show. But we did have what like 8 years in between. Teen titans movie is ughhh ? pls react. Love this reaction
I would love young justice
young justice is one of my favorite shows to watch people react to. so many amazing moments through all of it, though the first season will always have my heart
*also just saw in the reaction and wanted to clarify; young justice and teen titans aren’t actually related at all, aside from being dc shows on cartoon network and therefore having lots of overlapping characters and such. the shows are actually actually tonally a bit different, with young justice having a fairly darker tone.
Young Justice was cancelled in 2013, but it was so beloved that they brought it back 6 years later due to fan demand

Its really unfortunate that we didnt get a final season for teen titans, but is a issue of Teen Titans Go! Comic That show a hero by the name of Geoforce who i terra brother who ran into beast boy, and tell beast boy and bout they past and how they gain powers. He went to jump city to look for terra but later finds out she happily living a normal life she always wanted and ended up not interfering with new life. There also a comic panel of her looking at Geoforce flying away with smile signifying that she remember him.
As for slade there rumor he suppose to be villain for season 6. And would involve being the new leader of the brotherhood of evil after killing the brain. And the season would also involve Slade daughter"ravagener" and possibly his son "jericho" (who you saw last season) But none of ideas got finalize becuase of cancellation. If you want to learn more about the source where I got this info you look up jordon fringe and santi barrios on youtube and they explain it a lot better. 42:40 As far as young justice goes it's its own continuity. Kid Flash looks the same because Kid Flash's costume has been virtually the same ever since it's been revealed while Robin has had MANY different designs with the same core elements. Teen Titans robin, while being a version of Dick Grayson, has a costume reminiscent of Tim Drake's original green and red robin costume from the 90's and early 2000s. Mostly because by the time that this show came out, Dick Grayson hadn't been Robin in the comics for almost 20 years and the original robin costume, with it's short shorts and fairy boots, was supremely out of fashion. Jason Todd the 2nd robin had an almost identical costume, with the little short shorts and all, but Tim Drake the 3rd Robin was the first to wear pants. During this show, a teen titans comic was being produced but the team was lead by Tim Drake because Dick Grayson was far too old to be a "teen" titan.
Young Justice's Robin is ALSO Dick Grayson (extremely minor spoiler I guess, but honestly not really) and again they ALSO used a version of Tim Drake's costume for the design. Tim Drake was the first robin to go all red with his costume with no green. Young Justice is generally more drama focused than Teen Titans, so the usage of a red and black costume vs a green yellow and red one fits tonally. There are updated versions of Dick Grayson's classic costume that fit the vibe but also make it less silly, but those retcons/redesigns only started coming out post-2011 and more recently in the past couple years after the release of these shows.
TL:DR Robins have many costumes, but Tim Drakes are the only costumes (besides recent redesugns) that have the classic color schemes and go without the shorty shorts
Also they were bad at marketing the merchandise for teen Titans toys mainly that's what ended up asking the show in general because I think it got great to moderate ratings I maybe Miss remembering the ratings thing but I loosely remember hearing that it mainly got canceled because cartoon Network didn't know how to market a 18 Michelle with three boy characters and two girl characters

Teen Titans GO is definitely NOT worth the watch. It's nothing like the OG show, and is genuinely a waste of time.
Honestly, I think they should watch SOME of it. 40%40%20% (the night begins to shine episode) Teen Titans vs Teen Titans Go!, and Teen Titans Go To the Movies.
The reason I liked that they brought Terra back is because this season is Beast Boy's arc, Terra is a pivotal character for Beast Boy, and this episode doesn't end on some fairytale note where she joins the Titans again, instead Beast Boy after seeing her again still has to accept that those days are over and just a memory because things changed, it's a good lesson for a finale. Btw, Terra probably did remember and pretended not to, when Beast Boy says she used to be so happy she responded by saying things were never the way he remembers, which implies she knows because why would someone totally clueless without their memory say that. I think this episode is a good finale, it's bittersweet kinda like the third Spiderman movie in the marvel trilogy where Peter loses all his friends at the end and has to accept that, I think it make it more meaningful.

I don't care what anyone says I actually really love Things Change as a finale, it's a good message for an audience and a unique way to send off the show that didn't involve yet another big fight. It was a risky gambit but I'm so happy they did it, it's the highlight of season 5 for me.

The teen titans movie is for sure more of a finale than the actual series finale was!
also, there were some comics that followed this version of the Titans, same artstyle and everything, called Teen Titans Go (not to be confused with the new cartoon) and one issue they did a small continuation for this Terra storyline! Basically, her brother Brion Markov a.k.a Geo-Force comes looking for her to take her back home to Markovia and Beast Boy tells him where to find her. When her brother sees her at school with her friends he changes his mind and decides to let her stay living a normal life bc she looks the happiest he's ever seen her. So Terra lives out her days as a normal girl going to school.
I think they should first watch Teen Titans vs Teen Titans Go then watch young justice

i would say young justice is way better than GO. GO uses the characters but they are very different and played for silly comedy

The intention of the last episode may have been good, but really it's execution was awful. But I do really hope you guys watch Young Justice, the first season is really good, season 2 is alright. I'm not a fan of season 3 but haven't watched 4 before it was cancelled again.
Fwiw, Young Justice got similarly shafted. After season 2, it was canceled, returned for two more seasons after about half a decade, and wasn't renewed, so now it's in a weird limbo state. I do think the first two seasons are great, and definitely a lot more consistent back to back than TT
just the movie left now omg this show's gone by so quickly! luckily, if u continue watching ur way through the DCAMU then this isn't the last time you'll see these Titans

That part with Dr light at the end is probably my most watched scene in teen titans. Shame we don't get to see his reaction to everybody
Just letting you guys and some of the commenters know, because its not that well known, this was meant and written to be a finale finale. The writers of the show knew they weren't getting another season and wanted to wrap up the show in a meaningful way. If you noticed in the beginning the team were talking about all the old places that got shut down and how things have changed, that's pretty much the whole point of the episode.
They were trying to teach their young audience that sometimes things change with zero explanation and you won't always get closure on why

So, we never learn why Terra got freed, but the assumption is when Raven in the season 4 finale released that massive energy wave that returned the world to normal, it also freed Terra. And I am SO sorry yall got THAT frame out of any frame. So messed up.
It also makes sense too because every person was turned to stone like Terra and they all returned to normal.
