Ya know, as a disabled person, I love the complexities of Cyborg’s disabilities. We both have energy and physical limitations, albeit on significantly different sides of the spectrum. But it’s incredibly easy to get stuck on those limitations, especially when comparing yourself to a past version of you. And it’s incredibly important to learn how to safely push yourself past those limitations, without causing by more harm to yourself. The way tech worked back then compared to now makes the analogy of Cy’s limits kinda silly and goofy, and not super accurate. Not gonna lie, part of me struggles with the “with heart you can do anything” message; because fact of life is that that ain’t fucking true. But the message was hopefully in a unique way, and the fact that what makes cyborg a hero is his disability is fascinating in its own right. I love his character growth and struggles and how REAL they are for people with chronic and physical disabilities; especially as someone who develops them later on in life. God, fuck this show does so good; thanks for watching and helping me remember that
It's very interesting the different perspective one can have with this character. I never thought much of Cyborg being a disabled character, but now I understand that perception of him and why this episode my not always go over well with some. I can't speak for the disabled audience, but I personally always saw him overcoming his limitation in this and the whole "you can do anything you put your mind too" lesson as something that often just motivates others to do something they thought they couldn't accomplish before, only to realize that they could.
For example, if you'll indulge me when I started to play basketball in high school years ago, I was overweight and never thought I would be able to handle playing organized basketball in addition to all the running and conditioning required of me at the time. However, as I kept pushing through it I found myself becoming faster and adapting to it well to the point where now I've lost so much weight and I exercise a lot more now than ever. Therefore, Cyborg exceeding past what he thought he couldn't is something I could relate to.
Again the message of "you can do anything with heart" is not to say that everyone in the world can win gold meddles or go climb mountains, but if someone does exceeds beyond what's expected such as disable person adjusting their life to fully accommodate their disability, then that is just as much of an accomplishment. Although to your point perhaps it would have been interesting to see Cyborg work within his limitations somehow rather than suddenly surpassing them ?.
Beast boy is connected to the Red, which is a cosmic force that connects all animals in the universe. Poison Ivy and Swamp Thing use the Green which is the same thing but for plants. Beast boy can essentially turn into any animal and in the comics he's even more broken but really chooses not to be, able to turn into animals that are larger than they should be like a giant lobster or turn into mythical animals like a dragon or a phoenix, he can turn into aliens and even demons when he's in hell and he has on one occasion made up an animal that would be strong enough to do what he needed.
Derrick J. Wyatt was actually a character designer for the show and Ben 10: Omniverse, among other great shows. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2021. RIP
something absolutely disgusting yall should know is that terra is in her teens luckily they avoided comics stuff in this show but in the comics slade is like fucking 60-80ish years old and slade and terra have a romantical relationship (she even slept with him a few nights).?

Watch the ‘Son of Batman’ movie collection. Lots of AMAZING animated fight scenes and it features Batman, Robin (Damian Wayne), and Nightwing (Dick Grayson, the Robin you see in this show).
Beast boys powers are directly tied to the heart of the planet or something like that. He can change into any type of animal that has ever existed on the planet. I believe in one comic he travels to an alternate dimension planet, and can turn into the creatures only from that planet and not the ones from Earth.
So its just something about his DNA and soul
I wonder if they'll react to the Teen Titans DC animated movies. The Judas Contract and Justice League Vs Teen Titans? They're standalone movies and not connected to this series, So I'm not sure. They are really good movies nonetheless.

Beast Boy's suit is a special material, that's why it stays on and doesn't tore when he changes into something or when he changes back.
Hearing John DiMaggio make a sudden appearance reminds me; Please react to I Know That Voice. This group loves animation and voice actors, and it's a fantastic and funny documentary made by John himself. The only documentary I will likely ever recommend to anybody.

so to answer booms question about beast boy, they never adress it in the teen titans show but they do in the comics, beast boy essentially can turn into ANY creature hes seen before or knows the genetic makeup of in the comics hes even able to turn into alien species that hes seen before or atleast knows of this extends to even mythological creatures like how in the first episode after terra crushes him he turns into a Sasquatch
He used to have some insane feats in the comics, I haven't tapped into the current Beast World event, but I hope they bring back some of those abilities like turning into giant versions of the animals or hybrid transformations.
In this show it's never explained beyond like, Beast Boy seeing it I think (books count iirc). In some continuities, it's limited by his imagination, in Young Justice I remember it had to be something he saw in person so dinosaurs were off the table.

This is the first indicator of a very unpleasant aspect of Slade. And it only gets worse in the comics. He deserves a visit from Red Hood.
You do know that slade would embarrass red hood right? In the comics he literally beat red hood? should’ve said darkseid or brainiac

Red Hood is at least a bit comparable to Nightwing and Nightwing shitstomped Slade in their last fight during dark crisis

Maybe, not sure I agree though. I think it'd depend on where Red Hood was at in his story arc. He and Brainiac would be close. Either way, it certainly wouldn't take Darkseid, but that'd be a fun watch.
