   I just noticed something in the last few minutes before the credits rolled and I’ve noticed it happen a couple of times now…. Rebecca Sugar is so DIABOLICAL for having that character do THAT consistently at certain moments this whole season

      Oh yeah, this series is really good at foreshadowing. Even the first episode has subtle hints at THAT reveal.

      Yeah, it's really well sprinkled in throughout the series. That character does that thing in one or two episodes before this one, as well, and then a couple more times before the reveal. It's a fun thing to look for on rewatch.

   Without going into details... yes, Rebecca Sugar created Steven Universe Future. As far as I know, nothing Steven Universe (including the movie, the shorts, the games and the PSAs) was made without her approval.

   Yall still have a whole season, the series will end in the last episode of S5. The movie is after the series ended, it's a promo for Steven Universe Future, which is kind of a spin-off, but not really. The events of the SU universe will only end >>really<< on the last episode of Future.

    Not saying any spoilers, but regarding the show shortening they basically demanded the creators take out some landmark gay rep stuff that comes up later.

    You'll get what the "if you put this in we won't renew the show for a final season!" Thing is and why execs would throw a tantrum about when you see it.

    As far as I know, the Movie was just a case of the show still having enough popularity, there was enough blowback over cancelling it, and why, and possibly a change in CN management that they green lit it, then it did well enough for them to give the crew one final season to wrap up loose ends and give the story a more satisfying ending.

       The creator Rebecca Sugar was as involved in both the movie and Future. I think after the backlash about “the thing” you mentioned caused them to backtrack a bit and let her tie up some of the loose ends she wanted.
