Since you guys have seen through volume 4, I think it's fair to just go ahead and confirm that this post credit scene WAS just a dream. Like Yang said in Volume 3, she recognized Raven's sword, and probably her outfit, too, from the photo of team STRQ. And that photo shows her mother's face, so she knows what she looks like, too. So it wouldn't be impossible for her to dream about her mom.
As for her mom "needing to talk" I assume that was more of a subconscious projection of Yang's own feelings about her mom onto the dream version of her mom. She wants so desperately to know why Raven left, and the one time she's seen her likely since she was SUPER young and couldn't remember, she didn't even say anything to her. So her mom better have one hell of a reason to not only disappear, but show up randomly to save her and then disappear again. I mean I'm reading a lot of that into Yang, but it's probably all true, and it would all make sense. And I've seen the rest of the show, so... I have the benefit of foreknowledge.

Relatedly, I think you guys really need to check out the Season 1-3 World Of Remnant videos. Clearing up some backstory and fleshing out the World, including what Dust, Semblance, and the Academies are all about

Blind Wave also went pretty deep into theorizing after every episode. But the real deal Theorists have been MurderofBirds, Semblance of Sanity, and some others I'm forgetting but those two are ones I watched that were super deep into RWBY lore and theorizing. Granted, Semblance of Sanity only started at Season 4.

Yay V2 finale been looking forward to this, agree with Ruff that song Caffeine is FIRE I have it in my spotify likes list and listen to it all the time! You will get to see more of that team in the next season and I really hope they make an appearance again before the series ends. Glad to see u guys have so many questions knowing at least some of them will be answered soon. There us so much great stuff to come I cant wait!

The girl Yang fought in the train is called Neo Politan (yes like the ice cream, I mean look at her colors) and she's mute so that's why you never heard her voice. You finally made it! Volume 3 is coming and you're NOT ready lol!!
Weiss's semblance is her glyphs that she combines with dust but that is not magic, dust can be used as an elemental boost or directly as ammo (for example when Blake fought in the train). I think you should watch the "World of Remnant" videos soon causi it explains a lot of elements about the RWBY universe wich will be very useful for Volume 3 and beyond (like the four kingdoms, dust Grimm creatures, etc...). I know you can watch episode 1 to 4 but I'm not sure about the others. I can't wait for you to see Volume 3 wich is one of the best volume of RWBY!!
Yeah if u watch this series thru Crunchyroll they wouldve already showed the first 4 eps of WoR by now. Personally my suggestion for them at this point, especially since we dont know how far into V3 they are by now tho I'm sure they've started it, is to watch the 4 associated with V2 AND the 4 associated with V3 in just one go. Most of them are short enough they could do that without the vid being crazy long and theres no spoilers in the WoR eps themselves they'd just be getting an intro to some concepts maybe a little earlier than they show up in the show instead of getting them after.

I’d be careful listening to the soundtracks for each volume ahead of time. Some have some really major spoilers.
After you finish the next season, please consider watching RWBY Chibi. It’s a spin off parody series created by the same studio with the same voice actors that basically pokes fun at the original series in an “Ember Island” kind of way. Basically Teen Titans Go if it were actually good.

No please wait till you get through the main show before doing Chibi. It’s one thing when you have to wait for the next Volume, but when it’s already out, it just ruins the flow.
Also, I’m not sure how Ember Island Plays lees would factor in. Chibi isn’t really a “parody” it’s more just Chibi versions of the characters doing comedy segments.
