I think in some states you can actually pay your workers less if you’re offering up Room and Board. They live in Pops’ house in the park, so they lose part of their pay
Honestly, Benson is in the right in *almost* all of the episodes. Heck, he has had tons of reasons to have fired Mordecai and Rigby in season 1 alone, but he still hasn't despite how much they mess up, slack off, and disrespect him. One of my favorite parts of this show is how the cast grows together. You can already see it from season 1 to season 2 with more Muscleman and Hi-Five Ghost hanging around. These early episodes are still iconic and fun though.

Fun fact the broken bones episode is about Billy Mitchell who absolutely cheated to get a Donkey Kong world record but just sues anybody who accuses him of it and he even took the regular show people to court because Garrett Bobby Ferguson is clearly based on him but the judge threw out the case because "The television character does not match the plaintiff in appearance: GBF appears as a non-human creature, a giant floating head with no body from outer space, while Plaintiff is a human being," and best of all "When GBF loses his title, the character literally explodes, unlike Plaintiff."
