I love that they put the disappearing NPC in the lavender town section. If I remember correctly there was one in the game too.
Awwwwww, I'm sad that the dub toned down the Squirtle bite scene...in Japanese, that Charmander scream still haunts me
Soooooooo for those who dont know and were wondering this series was originally made as part of the promo material heading into the X/Y games on the 3DS hence why Fuji gives Red the extra 2 stones instead of just the PokeFlute like in the games and also why he plays so coy about what they are. It was nice cause it was used to announce something for those games but also gave both new and old fans something that tied back to the OG games in a way that hadn't been done to this point(as a show/anime at least). If anyone actually wants to see more of Red/Blue(Green) on their journey I extremely recommend checking out the Pokemon Adventures manga. They were released as an aside to the games telling stories that reflected something of the games story and used the actual MCs from the games which is why the MCs in this are Red/Blue instead of Ash/Gary or some other randos.
I for some reason that they were revisting old Pokemon with classic ash call me now dissapointed in a Pokemon with No Ash in it its like DBZ without Goku
Ash is strictly an anime thing nothing to do with the history of the games other than Yellow featuring Pikachu but Red also uses Pikachu as a signature
Red and Blue aren't related, just the same age.
Boom, your comment about the pokemon sounding like grown adults made me chuckle thinking of your guys reaction to the pokemon movie where Zapdos sounded like a man screaming 🤣🤣🤣
It's really funny that Brock is talking about type effectiveness... Then Red throws in a poison type.. who is weak to Geodude's secondary type. lol
I dont reconize adult brock though as an OG fan cause he acts like his dad now
Bro its not that deep
Erik: I want to snap and have a bunch of screens behind me turn on.
Sean: Do-able.
Erik: I want Pokémon to be real.
Sean: Uuuh.
Erik is allowed to not enjoy Bulbasaur but on a purely mechanical basis Bulbasaur is the best choice. Yes there are other grass/poison types like Bellsprout and Oddish but Venusaur is significantly stronger than those options and Grass is strong against or resists the first 4 gyms and is strong against the last gym.
Gen 1 has a bunch of really strong and really easy to obtain water types between Gyarados, Tentacruel and Lapras and sadly fire just isn't the best type for a gen 1 playthrough. But depending on your version you can get Arcanine or Ninetails are viable choices.
Lelouch vi Brocktannia?
Ash is only in the anime
actually, ash hat pikachu and ash greninja are both in the games.
Of course he went from viridian city to pewter city that fast. Its like a 10 minute walk through viridian forest and they're right next to each other
Bulbasaur is objectively the best starter in gen 1. Venusaur is the best grass type pokemon you can get in the game, almost a third of the gen 1 pokedex is water types so you dont need a blastoise, and charizard is the weakest option because you get bodied so often it only has an advantage against 1 gym leader out of 8 and is bad against all of the elite 4 except maybe Bruno
Nah, Torterra
Watch pokemon generations, twilight wings, and evolution, they're similar to this
Also, if you really gonna nerd out about Pokemon, Erik - Ghost types main origin, is from dead spirits of both Pokemon and people not passing on, possessing various stuff - so yeah you did see a ghost type - just before it spawned
Next pokemon movie when
The only thing I hate about this series, is your rival's canon name. If you watch it in Japanese, you hear them say "Green", but the English subtitles say "Blue", which is the name of the female avatar you can play as, instead of as Red. Green has always been his name, but because we never received the Green Version of Pokemon, Westerners were introduced him as "Blue"... There have been many times they could have fixed it, too, but localization double-downed even when this version released. DX
You even see Green in green themed clothing (something purple for some reason) while Blue wears blue (and black). Red tends to wear both red and blue, because that was supposed to be the selective names he could have been depending on which gender you picked. XD
You mean the gameboy Red Blue and Green? The same games that didn't have a female option?
yeah it was only with firered and leafgreen, the gen 1 remakes that added a female player character
Which was also when they retconned in the manga the female character being green and the OG rival being blue pretty sure before before the FRLG manga it was always Red/Green the boys cause of the OG game cartridges and Blue the female MC that wasnt in the games just the manga
Appearantly Gengar could learn Double-Edge by TM
I loved this show so much..I really hope they do the creepy pasta on Red because there is a strange theory that he actually died up on the mountains and among other strange theories surrounding him
Yall should watch Pokemon Generations and Evolutions. They’re short videos on YouTube about different events in Pokémon, they’re both really good
The best thing ever created by pokemon was the Adventures manga. If that ever got an adaptation it would be peak
Sadly I think this series is the closest we'll ever get to that
I’ve been hoping and praying that one day that will get adapted into an anime.
