please watch Gotham at some point
Gotham was such an underrated tv show
One thing about Chris Nolan, he gonna make a MOVIE. It's crazy that were about to get The Odyssey out of him
Sean, Erik, and the jv team gonna watch princess diaries?
I hope you guys react to The Batman and even after that you got to check out the continued story that happens in the Penguin TV Series.
And that concludes The Dark Knight trilogy! Still some of the best live-action CBMs. Hoping for your The Batman reaction next! I didn't think I would like Robert Pattinson as Batman/Bruce Wayne, but he killed it imo. I'm actually excited for its sequel, hoping it's also a trilogy.
Eric...shut up.
Now that you guys are done with Nolan's batman trilogy, can you react to College Humor's batman parodies based off the trilogy?
Would love a watch-through of the classic BTAS series
Now that you finished the dark knight trilogy, you have to watch the "Badman" spoofs i think were on college humor 🤣🤣

Since Bree likes movies with team ups, Batman Forever introduces Robin. And for more female representation as well Batman and Robin introduced both Poison Ivy and Batgirl.
Crossing my fingers for a reaction for The Batman coming!
Shocked no one has mentioned this but the plane scene with Bane in the beginning was 99% practical.
Kiss From A Rose by Seal was made FOR Batman Forever. We need it. Watch the music video after. XD
I still really want a reaction to Batman Forever. It's a lot of people's favorite Batman movie. It's stacked too. Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, and Drew Barrymore. It RULES.
Is that a lot of people's favorites? I haven't heard that lol.
its had a bit of a revisionist comeback lately as part of the "make Batman comic-booky again" movement.
I don't know what fucked me up more, realizing that was Littlefinger, or waiting for Boom or Ruff to recognize him. I just started watching y'all's GoT reactions, currently on season 2, so it was fresh in my mind, but I never recognized him before.
Okay I'm a new member and I'd love to see more DC content so I''ll be paragraph guy and run through your options.
For Live Action:
The four Christopher Reeve Superman movies plus the 1984 Supergirl film. Classics but definitely a product of their time. The first two at least are must watch to be considered Superman literate. The 2006 Superman Returns ignores 3 and 4 but is a direct continuation of 1 and 2. It bombed at the box office and never got a sequel but still has a number of fans.
The 1982 Swamp Thing direct by none other than Wes Craven. Underrated cult classic.
We don't talk about Green Lantern.
The DCEU or "The Snyderverse": Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Aquaman, Shazam!, Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Notes: (Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad are connected to each other but only The Suicide Squad is considered canon to the new Gunnverse.) (There are two cuts of Justice League, the theatrical Joss Wheaton cut and the four hour Snyder cut. The Snyder Cut is, I regret to say, the far superior way to watch.)
The new DCU or "The Gunnverse": The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker ( 2 Seasons), Creature Commandos (1 season, animated), Superman (2025), Lanterns (1 Season early 2026)
Then there is the separate "Reevesverse" with The Batman (2022) and The Penguin (1 Season).
Finally The Joker and The Joker: Folie aux Duex. These are more 1970's Scorsese films that comic book movies. Think Taxi Driver rather than Batman.
For live-action TV you have the Arrowverse shows, Gotham, Stargirl, Titans and Doom Patrol (shared universe, Titans has standard Teen Titans lineup, Doom Patrol has Cyborg as well as Timothy Dalton, Alan Tudyk, and Brendan Frasier.
That was getting long. But here's more. This time animation.
The DCAU: Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Justice League, JL: Unlimited, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman and Mr. Freeze: Subzero, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Batman and Harley Quinn, Justice League vs The Fatal Five. (There's a specific episode watch order that's too long and complicated to list here but still makes more sense then Clone Wars.)
The "Tomorrowverse" (The universe reset following JL Dark: Apokolips War which finished your DCAMU binge): Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Justice Society: WWII, Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1&2, Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Legion of Superheroes, JL: Warworld, JL: Crisis on Infinate Earths Parts 1-2-3.
Anything else out there is essentially standalone. But I would highlight Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman: Year One, All-Star Superman, Batman Ninja, and the JL: Crisis on Earth 2/ JL: Doom duology.
Hope all that was helpful and not annoying.
Okay guys say it correctly their child does not become a murderous psychopath he becomes the fourth Robin.
I'd be so down for a Princess Diaries reaction. Do the sequel too if you do.
Gotham city is just Pittsburgh because a large chunk of the movie was filmed in Pittsburgh
You guys have to watch Superman and Lois on hbo max, I promise you guys will love that show. It’s one of the best written Superman I’ve ever watched
For me this is the worst of the 3 movies. Bane is good with all his one liners, but he's just like Bane from Batman & Robin. Rise Bane is better in every way but the are the same when you compare them.
I know your schedule is INSANELY full, but if you're going to watch The Batman, you need to also watch the Penguin TV show on Max afterward. You should also definitely try to watch Gotham.
I would love to see you guys react to the killing joke
Yall have to watch The Batman! With Pattinson
Now Bree HAS to play the Arkham games!
2:42:16 look at the whole room and how they seated the three groups and the statue in the middle. Kinda ‘funny’ looking, isn’t it?
yes more anne hattaway please princes, devil and ella are all so good
no eyeliner just his eyes
The Batman is amazing! And it also has a spin-off show, Penguin, before the sequel.
Finish the DCEU just cuz, but seriously Shazam and Black Adam are good movies!
I'm sure people will definitely explain that Ben Affleck quit for more reason than just not getting to direct his own Batman film, The production on the live action Justice League film sent him spiraling down a path alcohol and dealing with all kinds of personal relationships issues, so he quite at the time to sober up.
Also, I completely get Bree's whole thing of liking the team dynamics in the mcu as opposed to the one hero narrative like it is here. I was the exact same way when I was younger (and kind of am now) which is why as a kid I didn't get into Batman or Superman the animated series as much as I did Justice League, Teen Titans, or X-Men. The only exception was Spiderman but even then I liked it more when he crossed over with other heroes 😅.
Sean, the fact that we both said destiny in Bane's voice right after him, dude lmao
Ok, now the boys need to watch Princess Diaries lmao
So for where to go with the current live action DCU, it be both Suicide Squads, Blue Beetle, Creature Commandos show, then Peacemaker and you’re caught up since you all saw the new Superman. Adding the first Suicide Squad is tricky cause Boom is right that it’s not exactly canon because it connects to the old DCEU with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck which I would still recommend to see you guys watch Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Wonder Woman, & Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Is Blue Beetle considered canon to the new DCU?
yes actually.
Minor criticism : most movies don't have end credits. It's marvel movies that have them. 99% of movies outside of Marvel don't have them. If it isn't a marvel movie or modern comic book movie, you don't really need to check if their is a end credit scene.
Technically a lot of movie outside of Marvel do have end credits these days. Even before Marvel there would be a good chunk of movies that had something 🤔.
Such a good movie! Still 2nd movie is my favourite but I do love this movie!
Definitely The Batman and the current DC movies I’d love if you guys check out some Batman cartoons like Batman the animated series and The Batman 2004
Great reaction! Can’t wait for more DC reactions. I be down for a The Batman video as well as some more animated ones like Batman Year One. Overall excited for what comes next.
40:41 Bree becomes a Batcat shipper lol
upon the conversation of stupid people in flying cars, a streamer in china built a gyrocopter, took off for the first time while streaming, crashed and died because he had 0 flight experience
In terms of 'The Batman' it was originally going to be a Ben Affleck Batman movie. But as you mentioned there were creative issues and how the DCEU (from Man of Steel to Aqua Man and the Lost Kingdoms, had a very mixed reception. It eventually split off and became it's own thing and it will be separate from the New DCU, under James Gunn. Which if you want to be truly caught up, there is a show that came out before Superman called Creature Commandos, it's animated not live action though.
Hoping we get to see “the Batman” next with Robert Pattinson
You guys need to check out Badman now that you've seen the Nolan trilogy cause it's hilarious.
If yall watch The Batman next, be sure after the movie you watch the deleted scene. But don’t look it up until after the movie because spoilers.
1:19:01 Batman has made ~15 attacks in the fight so far and it’s done nothing. Bane made ~5 attacks and sent Batman tumbling onto his head.
This is the second best movie trilogy behind LOTR.
1. Dark Knight
2. Batman Begins
3. Dark Knight Rises
They are all amazing, and I can't wait to see your Pattman reaction.
Watch Starkids musical Holy Musical B@man
I never realized lord balish was in this
I hope you guys watch "The Batman" righ after finishing the Dark Knight Trilogy that would be awesome, im very curious at you're guys reaction to that
Definitely hoping for a The Batman watch along as your guys Twilight videos on YouTube are what got me to join the Patreon, gotta get your take on Battinson.
Also please make Sean watch Princess Diaries! They’re legit good flicks.
Might as well check out some of tje "Badman" videos that college humor (I think called drop out now) made while these came out. Some are pretty funny
You guys should definitely watch Gotham, it's my favourite DC show and it's awesome to see Bruce and Jim's earlier life in Gotham City along with the origin stories of many famous Batman villains!
Rises is a temu version of the Dark knight returns.
6:19 “that’s fucking Peter Baelish!”. I love how I was thinking the same thing. This came out in 2012 right after the premiere of GOT. Oh my god I can’t believe i never knew that. Also when you said that I also thought of Deadpool 3 “that’s fucking Peter!” 🤣
Sakura splash 😂. Not gonna ask where or how. I’ll leave it to my imagination.
The eyeliner guy actually isn't wearing any eyeliner. Apparently he just has very dark eye lashes that makes it look like that.
Daggett's actor actually plays a good guy in the MCU, but he was cast with the knowledge that he often plays bad guys.
Despite its obvious flaws I still think it’s a above average movie that I enjoy.
If she or y'all haven't watched it yet, Drag Bree along to watch the Harley Quinn TV Series. The Harley Quinn TV show is legit really really good and pokes fun at everything DC.
Also, Blue Beetle is cannon to James Gunn’s DCU. Whenever you guys watch it, you’ll enjoy it a lot I feel!
I rewatched Tenet, Nolan's latest movie currently out by the time this has been written (his Odyssey movie does look neat), it's very telling how many Nolan-isms permeate throughout so many of his movies.
If y'all would be interested in more Nolan, Tenet would be such fun for y'all
Hey Sorta Stupid! Probably go to the Batman with Pattinson next, and maybe follow with the Penguin series after. Also, you guys should check out Gotham, it was wild and crazy but really good!
I can never suspend disbelief enough to imagine all the "financial transactions" conveniently made when the stock exchange is being held hostage which bankrupt someone who wasn't there to make said transactions are allowed to stand. Aside from anything else I doubt that's how a stock exchange really works.
Or another example Dagget insisting on Bruce leaving because he's not on the board when he's the majority share holder and Dagget is the owner of an entirely different company. If Dagget can be there then Bruce should be as well.
Man, having re-watched The Dark Knight Returns not so long ago, i can't believe how similar this are,
I knew them and year one were great inspiration for this trilogy, but not so shot for shot
.the old police officer with the rookie seeing his return
.his first fight with bane, with all his goons watching, mirroring the one with the mutant leader
.him faking his death at the end
“I could not forgive my father until you murdered him.” The replies when I pointed out that it was the same as murder in the comment section of the Batman Begins reaction: It’s NoT tHe SAmE!
Seriously I’m doubling down. Not saving someone and leaving them to die is literally the same as killing them yourself. It’s not legally the same thing but it’s morally the same thing. Example, indentured servitude and the American prison system aren’t legally slavery even though they totally are slavery. People can reply as much as they want about how wrong I am but I know that they’re just coping like Bruce.
2:11:27 Even if you don’t know about Talia from the comics, it’s in front of you in this scene. “Do what is necessary.” Ra’s Al Ghul in Batman Begins: “Do what is necessary.”
Oh we gotta see yall react to Battinson and The Batman. Honestly my fave also 🙌🏽
YES!!! Do the Twilight Batman NEXT!
& SUCIDE SQUAD 1 is cannon lol
Is It lol?
Personally I hope they go back and do Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. They aren't great movies but I feel like they will get a kick out of them.
James Gunn is trying reeeeeally hard to ignore all of the Synderverse stuff despite his characters being connected to that universe wether he likes it or not.
Fun fact: Batman does have a daytime costume, its either blue and grey, or white
Never seen a white costume on him.
Yeah, watch Gotham! It's not the best show, but it's still so much fun.
Id LOVE if you guys watched gothem its a good series
Yo, Joshua from No Ordinary Family is in this.
Watch The batman pleeeeease
Please please please everyone
lets have them watch Batman Gotham Knight Movie
that ties in the Dark Knight Trilogy
Anne Hathaway's kids movies are so fun, I love ella enchanted and princess diaries
“Ra’s Al Ghul was the League of Shadows and I beat him.” This is a really weird thing to use as evidence for why the League is gone. Bruce knows that the League is centuries old and therefore had other leaders before Ra’s came along so why is he acting like there can be no League if Ra’s is dead?
In Bruce's mind he blew up their headquarters, killed their leader, and its been over a decade since then with no sign of them. Bruce probably figures that if they were live they would have made a move by now.
The eyeliner guy doesn't, in fact, wear eyeliner. He is always like this, even in Lost.
Thank you for watching this on my Birthday Guys
Fun Fact: 1:36:31 Gotham’s football team in this movie was actually that year’s Pittsburgh Steelers 💯
Bane’s voice sounds that way cause when the movie first dropped u cold barely his voice lol it was muffled so they turned his voice up.
Personally this is my favorite one.
Please watch the get smart movie from the 2000s. It has Anne Hathaway in it and its so good. Not very many people reacted to that one too so it would be nice to have you guys do that one
White Bane got me mildly annoyed with Nolan, the only person of color in these movies is Morgan Freeman and Bane is one of the smartest Latinos in DC comics but this movie made him whiter than mayonnaise. When you race swap a POC for a white guy, the internet seems to care a lot less than the other way around...
In some cases the internet does go off about that even back then. Look at Last Airbender in 2010 😅.
By that logic I'm kinda surprised you don't have an issue with the actress for Talia being played by a white French woman.
That’s ok imo bc it’s to justify her being related to Ra’s who is also played by a white guy and Ra’s getting race swapped makes sense because Batman Begins came out four years after 9/11. Nolan was smart enough to know that casting a middle eastern guy as the leader of a terrorist organization would’ve caused some problems.
i mean his dad is literally an english buff blonde white guy. mom's race isn't confirmed but assumed to be Caribbean, which again isn't a race, she could be white, latina, or black. bane is almost always depicted as pasty white. so i'm leaning closer to white mom as well.
Bane is usually depicted as a Latino, only the movie seem to get his race wrong 🤔.
Idk, it doesn't bother me anymore than race swapping a white character for a POC. For example, I think both Samuel L Jackson and Tom Hardy did phenomenal jobs playing Nick Fury and Bane respectfully, but they're both race swapped. There's certain characters that I believe they shouldn't race swap, like Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man, because there's already established versions of those characters who are people of color (Val Zod's Superman, Tim Fox's Batman and the son of Morgan Freeman's character from these movies, and Miles Morales). There were talks a few years ago of Michael B Jordan playing Clark Kent in a Superman movie. That's stupid. Don't race swap Clark Kent when you could introduce a whole generation of children of color to the Val Zod Superman and give him a chance in the limelight.
Tom Hardy did well in the role yes, but race-swapping is usually a problem if it's taking away any opportunity for a poc actor to get work. Case in point, Bane is usually Hispanic and this film would have been a great opportunity for a Hispanic actor to play in a big blockbuster film (especially when roles like that for Hispanic actors are so few and far between).
I can agree that characters like Batman and Superman don't need to be race-swapped (especially when you have other poc characters with similar names or gimmicks to them). However, people may be open to those swaps simply because the number white characters in both dc and marvel tend to greatly out number the poc characters. Therefore, some where open to the idea Will Smith (back in the day) or Michael B Jordan being offered the role of Superman, even though I can agree that that's not needed, and an adaptation of Val-Zod or Calvin Ellis would be more interesting 🤔.
I genuinely dont mind race/gender swaps and it wouldn't have bothered me at all if there was a bit more diversity in other places in these movies. Ra's Al Ghul in the comics is muslim, nearly every background and minor character that has speaking lines is white. I still enjoy these movies a lot, but rewatching them it just feels really noticeable, kinda like Peacemaker season 2, the world feels weird but in this case it's not intentional.
Ra’s was most likely race swapped bc the movie came out four years after 9/11 and Ra’s is the leader of a terrorist organization.
My favorite of the BEST TRILOGY
