This was my favourite not just Batman movie but just superhero movie in general for the longest time, just so much of this movie to love in it for me. Only thing that finally topped it was, hilariously, another Batman movie specifically The Batman and I cant wait for its sequel to come out
One of the best movie openings of all time
I need them to do peacemaker I think they’d find it sooo good
Absolute Batman is a new series set in its own universe, everything is maxed out to 11 and has some of the most over the top grimdark villains yet. Its a world where Bruce isnt a billionaire, his dad worked construction if I remember right so he has like a giant bulldozer for his batmobile. Its a really fun read but not cannon in the slightest
I've never seen everyone so focused on reacting to something than the final few moments of this movie
Honestly, if there was any movie to be considered an actor's best last movie, this was definitely Heath Ledger's best movie that he went out on
My personal favorite live action Joker wasn't even called the Joker officially.
I really hope they get to The Batman eventually. I think that’s probably my favorite live action Batman film
Heath Died right after filming of this movie he had already passed away when he won the Oscar his sister accepted the Oscar for him
If you watch the Killing Joke movie, skip the first 30 minutes and only watch the last 45 minutes. The first 30 minutes was not in the comics and that is why it is so poorly written compared to the last 45 minutes, which is very comic accurate. The first 30 minutes was written by the director who wanted to leave his own "mark" on the story, but is just disjointed and has a very controversial addition.
You people just didn’t like Batman having sex with Batgirl and just overreacted.
Of course people would not like a sex scene of Batman and Batgirl , you’re saying it like it’s such a small thing , saying people “overreacted” to that is wild
"you people just didn't like the worst fucking addition possible"
You could always watch the Harley Quinn trilogy (Suicide Squad, Birds of Prey, The Suicide Squad)
I hope that after you guys watch the dark knight rises , you guys watch The Batman (2022) that would be an awesome and interesting reaction
i downloaded an audio booster just to hear this video louder idk why patreon videos so quiet
One of the coolest details of this movie for me is the scene with Harvey and Joker in the hospital. While the Coin is beeing flipped you can see Jokers finger on the Revolvers hammer, so no matter what he could stop beeing shot.
The thing at the beginning were all the heist members kill each is actually accurate I watch this ex criminal on YouTube and he mentioned an interesting saying 3 people can keep a secret if 2 are dead interesting when you think about that 🤔
This movie really tested how squeamish Bree can get 🤣
i only just not realized how batman had that short pause of shock and confusion when he made it to Harvey instead of Rachel
Ngl, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is still one of my absolute favorite Batman media. Conroy and Hamill seriously shine. 💗
In terms of what could be watched after the Dark Knight Trilogy, one of my top picks is The Batman (2022). It’s a long one but for me personally it’s up there with The Dark Knight in terms of my favourite Batman movies.
They've already seen it I'm pretty sure. Based on the amount of references made to it in old vids I'd be surprised if they haven't.
Yall need to do the mission impossible series. i promise you guys will have a glorious time.
PLEASE more animated DC movies. I want you guys to witness Superman/Batman: Apocalypse or Justice league: Crisis on Two Earths!
Bit niche, but there’s a YouTube channel called Starkid, with an acting group that write and star in musicals. They do A Very Potter Musical which was great but they also did something called Holy Musical B@man and I think it’s great, you guys might like it
Please make the cam views bigger i care way less about the top corners of media then i do not being able to clearly see yalls faces when stuff happens especially on mobile
still the best dc movie to date and its not close.
It's hilarious talk about taking Batmobile to the chop shop when Jason Todd tried to steal teh wheels off teh batmobile
The Killing Joke movie is a good adaptation...if you skip the first 30-ish minutes. Bruce Timm will always be Bruce Timm -.-
You people just didn’t like that Batman had sex with batgirl (which I didn’t find weird at all) and overreacted.
The first 30 minutes was not Bruce Timm, it was the writer or director's addition as they wanted to leave their own "mark" on the movie. It is just bad and controversial for the wrong reasons; and does not add anything to the actual comic story. Definitely skip the first 30 minutes.
To be fair, many have brought up that that addition was not purely Bruce Timm 🤔.
Have you guys seen the chainsaw man movie?
I didn't even know there was a movie, is there a way to see it, like on Crunchyroll? I've only even seen the first season.
This is one of my favorite movies. I've been looking forward to seeing ya all react to this one.
Seeing so many iconic actors in this movie it’s amazing but seeing Morgan Freeman in this reminded me that yall should react to movie called Wanted with Angelina Jolene and James McVoy
Man is this movie still so great from the rich cinematography, the rich color-palette, the rich characters, The rich lines (that are still memed and quoted) and a rich screenplay. Hollywood movies from here would think that dark and gritty was the way to go, but miss why it worked so well here. I.E. the points listed above.
Also, I recommend Bullets and Blockbuster's take on what happen with Heath Ledgers Joker behind the scenes. had he not passed away he would have popped-up in the third film and certainly would be called back to make cameos in other stuff.
Nevertheless, the only thing I found weird on this rewatch is the pace of the scene where Bruce talks to Alfred after Rachael's death, It felt like that scene should've or could've breathed a little more 🤔.
Lastly, you guys brought how dark DC is compared to Marvel, and it's funny considered how DC comics were once known for being a lot goofier and sunnier whereas Marvel always tackled some deep stuff. However, it's easy to buy into that because of mainstream adaptations🤔 .
I dont think people necessarily dislike the killing joke. Its that one specific "heinous act" that people dislike. Which goes for both the movie and the comic. Only because they dont think the Joker would do something like that(which is stupid) and because its been used as the "canon" backstory for a specific character ever since. People just didn't like how big of an impact that one story had on Batman affiliated media since that moment
actually, I'm fairly certain that people hated the movie because the weirdass Batman x Batgirl storyline that they intruduced
This is why people dislike it. That first 30 minute mini-storyline addition that does not add anything to the actual comic storyline.
People criticize the Killing Joke comic because of it fridging Batgirl, and when the film adaptation tried to "fix" that it did so by adding an unnecessary prologue to the story that didn't help with anything 🤔.
Watch killing joke it's good exploration of the relationship between joker and Batman..
Also the viewing order of stuff that is connected to the new dc universe is
Suicide squad 2016
Birds of prey (just for Harley story)
The Suicide squad 2021
Peace maker season 1
Creature commandos season1
Superman 2025
Peace maker season 2
You guys really need to watch the college humor Batman skits after the third movie. It’s called Badman
you guys should watch All Godzilla Fan Short Films
They should watch Godzilla movies, maybe not the really old ones, but Shin Godzilla and Godzilla One are really good.
Something I will note for Bree and others- Heath Ledger's struggle with mental health was not one that was borne of this role, it was that following this role, he no longer had an outlet. His passion was inhabiting the greatest possible artistic role, and his mental state suffered leaving this role. He essentially had an accident with his medication (due to Hollywood docs and their BS). This role was not the cause of his fate, it was the kind of thing he lived for.
I just realized when Fox goes into R and D to see Bruce with the sonar screens there's actually two security people letting him in. Good thing they didn't see anything they shouldn't.
.28 cal pocket pistol lol... i didn't appreciate how stupid that sounded till i knew about firearms as an adult. the actor probable was supposed to say .22 cal.
joker did make Batman break his own rule, since he did kill Harvey to save Gordan's son , so he did techincally did make him break his own moral code, it just wasn't on him
it was very fun watching you guys react to this, this movie is still fantastic
Heath Ledger. What a legend.
I still have the vivid memory of when Joker has the close up int he beginning of the movie when talking to the bank mob guy, and says "Stranger". God the entire theater shook because of how bassy the line was. Told you things were going to get fucking crazy.
For things connected to James Gunn DC universe it'd be the 2 Suicide Squad movies then Creature Commandos then Peacemaker. I don't know if Harley Quinn Birds of Prey is connected to the James Gunn DC.
Dont forget Creature Commandos is between Season 1 and 2 of Peacemaker, not before.
Correct, it goes 1. Suicide Squad, 2. The Suicide Squad, 3. Peacemaker season 1, 4. Creature Commandos season 1, 5. Superman, 6. Peacemaker season 2.
Please please please also watch The Batman (2022)
I think you three (but not Bree) would really enjoy the Harley Quinn show! Hope you'll find the time for it down the line!
During the gun scene Joker was holding his hand on the cylinder and the hammer - the gun would never have fired
I hate that people take the Joker's speech on plans as truth. He is the villain he is LYING. The boats where his plan.
Yes but your trying to get out of the City and the the Joker says your in for a Surprise if you take the Tunnels do you risk or or do you go another route.
Especially when he has contingencies in place for the cops and Batman.
I know its overthinking but that opening scene I can't help but wonder why so many of them think "Oh I need to kill X as soon as his jobs done but surely no one would do the same to me."
I guess Batman's No-Kill rule only applies to humans...those dogs he threw down the building are def dead...
You thought your dogs would be gotten by Scarecrow, but it was I, BATMAN!!!
The one hole for me is that the joker was in a dish tank why was he guarded inside?
Probably because they wanted someone to have eyes on him at all times given how high priority he was. I mean yes obviously they were inside so the joker could escape but still that's my reasoning they wanted a 20 year veteran to be watching him at all times ready to prevent him from doing anything.
there is a film theory video talking about how Joker might actually have been the good guy
yes and that is stupid
Nolan actually flipped that fuckin Semi btw!
"Does Batman just write a check?" I like to think that Bruce somehow behind the scenes finds a way to fix the stuff he destroys. He could own most of the insurance companies in Gotham and just make sure everyone's claims get approved, plus a lil maybe.
His companies are the only ones who offer Incase of Batman insurance LMAO
They absolutely did not catch that the Joker was one of the fake cops in the honor guard lmao
The comment heath made about people showing their true selves in their final moments. When J Jonah Jameson was about to die to the green goblin in the Tobey movies if he didn't say who spiderman's photographer was. A true legend
Such and epic movie!! One of my favourite Batman movies and trilogy! <3
No, the delay of the explosion was not a real reaction or a mistake. It was a planned moment that was carefully timed.
Skyhook was absolutely real!! It's just as sick as it's shown.
Screw all that Castlevania when?
woah bud
Where do you go after this trilogy? Dune/Dune part 2. That’s where you go lmao. You’ll love it
My senior year of High School I took drama. One of our assignments was to perform a monologue in front of the class and I chose the story Joker tells Rachel about his scars at the dinner party. I got permission from my buddy in that class to do the monologue to him and I yanked him out of his chair and preformed the monologue right to his face, with nobody in the class, not even the teacher knowing I was going to use the class as props to act at. I was walking across the front row during the lines "where's Harvey? Do you know where I can find him?" looking at/and asking to different people sitting in the row. To this day my theater friends still talk to me about it because of how I used the audience in my performance. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
batman forever would be fun because it's so bonkers
can you guys react to all Godzilla Fan Shorts
The Wayne foundation has a charity that pays for all the damage that the Batman causes
I have listened to this film score so many times. I can hear each piece of music before it starts. LOL
Where to go after this? I feel the Natural progression is the Snyderverse and then "The Batman" w/ Pattinson
I think it’s funny because at the end of the movie Joker achieved what Batman wanted a safe Gotham.
Jack Nicholson actually warned Heath Ledger about those sleeping pills the execs gave him since they did the same thing to him when he played the Joker. Studio doctors will straight-up kill a person with prescriptions.
I think there’s a theory that this joker was some special op soilder if I’m remembering right.
Pleeeeease do more Christopher Nolan films, one of the last blockbuster directors left. Personal vote is interstellar.
We need a video showing all the times bree hides under her blanket 🤣 i think I rewatched the guy breaking his ankles about 4 times to see all of the crews reactions lol
Yeah i had a feeling when i saw this pop up on the schedule, that Bree was going to have a rough time with this one cuz its just crazy. Loved all their reactions to the magic pencil scene.
If you think the baby coat was creepy the joker skinned his own face off for fun
Love this movie so much ngl.
Heath didn't go crazy, but like Sean said he definitely wasn't in the best headspace. If I'm remembering correctly, Heath accidentally OD'd because he was taking medications for like depression and also to sleep. His masseuse is the one who came to his apartment for his appointment and found him unresponsive. His death fucked me up because he was one of my favorite actors as a teen. I had the biggest crush on him. If Bree hasn't seen them, she'd love "10 Things I Hate About You" and "A Knight's Tale." Those were definitely his early breakout roles. But he was a great actor.
I hate how much people love this movie! I'm not saying that I hate this movie, but for me this is more the Joker movie I wanted instead of the real Joker movie. The whole detective thing is taken out of this movie by letting you see what the Joker is up to the whole time. I honestly don't feel like this is a Batman movie. But hey, that's just me against I feel like 99% of the rest of the people who like this movie. xD Also, I do want a bit more funny haha Joker like Mark Hammill and Jack Nicholson. Not the 'I can make this pencil disappear in your fucking eye.'
a lot of people agree on you with that, on that this is more of a joker movie than a batman movie
id also say its pretty normal outside of the arkham games for the audience to know exactly what villains like joker are doing
i mean to be fair outside of the earliest comics joker is usually more messed up then actually funny, the cartoons are where i feel like i mainly see him even try to have a sense of humor that the audience appreciate
Idk how it was delivered was funny but that’s just me ig.
One of the best super hero movies of all time. What an amazing year 08 was. We got this and Ironman the same year.
A film so good that it completely changed the way that the Oscar's worked, being the primary reason for the Best Picture having 10 Nominees, rather than 5. But even moreso. The immense cultural impact.
