I am from the Oklahoma/Texas and I don't use crosswalks or wait for them.
Man I'm sad you guys didn't notice the assistant is the lead actress from Rogue One lol
I moved from Oklahoma to California.... And the amount of times I have yelled, "Nice signal, Asshole!" Has increased immensely... People don't know what a turn signal is here, I swear! Also the people who damn near stop and slowly make a left turn into a parking lot or something... WHY!? You slow down slightly, and accellerate through the turn... Not stop and ride tour brakes through it! Where I'm from, priority #1 is get the hell out of other people's way. Here, I think they have main character syndrome and thing the world is waiting for them! And if there is any kind of weather other than clear or dry.... These guys lose their minds. A slight sprinkle? Gotta get through it before my car melts, I guess!
it makes it sadder when you know they cut out a secret scene of him meeting his dad
I know you guys discussed it, but at the time of both the Tobey Spiderman and the first The Amazing Spiderman, both times where Gwen and MJ both were falling in those movies and he has to catch them with webbing, everyone was afraid of it being that death scene. Even when Gwen showed up in the Tobey ones, everyone was like "OH No....". Also both main times in the movies when the fall happens its with the Goblin, and that's what made it more possible, because in the comics, The Green Goblin is the one who drops Gwen and then the death save happens.
You guys have to watch Venom (2018), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021) and Venom: The Last Dance (2024) before Spider Man: No Way Home. Please do!
We don't need that big a delay for movies that aren't even connected to spiderman ngl
I mean No Way Home before Venom: The Last Dance
now i'm not an aeroplane expert but i'd assume having a plane fly over another in the way that you described would cause essentially a microburst which is a sudden and strong downdraft which causes abrupt changes in wind speed and direction. microburst are more dangerous for planes and the leading cause of most aeroplane accidents. also since you said we had to say our pet peeve, people not reading traffic, if i can see the gap from behind them then they should see the gap too, if a car is taking the first exit at a roundabout there's no reason to stop for them.
I never saw this movie. It's much better than I expected. It was my understanding that people really don't like it. Maybe just because it's not the most happy of endings. I knew what happened with Gwen in advance. Maybe that helped me enjoy it more. Being braced for that.
Oh and fuck Peters dad (wish y'all watched the deleted scene)
Yes I'd be so down for a spiderverse rewatch with Brie this time!!
Bree, stop using AI to look up if there’s end credit scenes. Fuck AI.
yeah the amount of times ive seen the google ai summery just wrong several times
I feel like they don't really get how bad it is that they rely on ai so much for stuff like that, they really need to look into how bad gpt is
I'm about 2 hours west of Chicago in Illinois. We don't use crosswalks lol. Biggest driving pet peeve I'd say I people who don't at least drive at the speed limit.
Must be an east coast thing cause no one uses the cross walks here in Florida lol
I watched this as a kid and all i kept screaming was "shes okay right?!" my mom had to comfort me the rest of the day I was depressed
I will forever love this movie because they had the balls to actually go through with Gwen's death. When previews first dropped and they had her in the 'death clothes' I got so hyped! Her death was such a pivotal moment for not just Spiderman but ALL comics, because that when the stories started getting less HEA and darker.
I will say I was a bit disappointed that they changed the detail of her neck snapping from the force of Peter yanking her back with his web and not supporting her head with an extra web, as opposed to Peter just not getting to her in time. Still powerful, but the comic original is still one of the most painful lessons ever taught to a superhero IMO. 💔
Yes please do the animated ones in the mean time with miles
San Francisco Bay Area, California - Traffic pet peeves - people blocking intersections, people using the bike lane as a whole lane, drivers thinking their high beams are their lights on (you can tell they aren't on because their back lights are not on), TESLA AUTOPILOT, people going below the speed limit when there's no reason to... and all of these would be less of a problem for me if it wasn't for my ultimate pet peeve while driving - people making infractions IN FRONT OF COPS and the cops don't do jack shit. Claiming they're understaffed to do anything about traffic infractions, yet when my dad died they had to send 10 cops to my parents' house? Fuck all of the PD in my area
This movie has some of the best music for scenes I've ever seen for one, and to add Gwen Stacy's death is an iconic moment of the term "fridging" where the MC's love interest is killed off to progress the plot.
Source of "fridging" was the death of Kyle Reiner's (Green Lantern 5) girlfriend who was killed and stuffed in his fridge.
i jaywalked once and a cop came driving up out of nowhere on his megaphone thingy and said "stop jaywalking" in the most bored tone. scared the crap out of me lol. my pet peeve when driving is when i am waiting to make a turn and someone pulls up next to me and blocks my view so i can't go until they go. from central florida but the worst driving i've dealt with was in tampa, florida.
I loved his quips it felt more like how spidey really is.
Gwen loved Peter but MJ loved Spiderman first.
Also when the clock broke, the time it finally rests when she died is 1:21 a reference to the comic the amazing Spiderman issue 121 "the night Gwen Stacy died"
One of the best Spider-Man suits ever
Something else Dane DeHaan is in you peeps might dig is Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. It did ok-ish but damn is it entertaining.
grew up in denmark and my pet peeve in traffic is people that don't use their blinkers and also people that don't look when turning onto a road
Stay Speed Limit (Freeway/Highway 10 over max), mind them crosswalks, fuck high beams (especially when flashed behind me)
ALWAYS TURN SIGNAL (watch Shoot 'Em Up, comes into point)
If you try to "muscle me" to go faster by tailgating (especially when I'm already pulling 65) I will slam breaks cuz fuck, my truck will survive your car, rear collision is at fault.
Las Vegas, NV
Tom Holland has literally stopped interviews to correct people that Zendaya is his fiancé not girlfriend. Its adorable.
Most millennials know Paul Giamatti through Big Fat Liar, they were probably introduced to him through it lol.
Nevertheless, The Amazing movies do have some quality updates: the cinematography and action is good, the costume in this one looks the best (as well as the colored-pallet), the romance is great, and Garfield is a great Spider-Man (Although his Peter Parker not so much lol). However, the Tobey Maguire films (at least the first two) still hold-up well as classics for many reasons and every Spider-Man movie made since it has been a big reaction to it 🤔.
Also, the main reason we didn't get a third one of these isn't just because it maid less money. It was also because Sony was trying to rush to make a sinister six film, and at the time of this film's release they got hacked and it revealed all their upcoming plans for spiderman films which also included one about Aunt May being a spy in here younger years or something like that (even Sally Fields thought that was dumb). I also bring this up to show the main problem with these films, and it's that they were mainly made so Sony could keep the rights to Spiderman, as the rights would have reverted back to Marvel had Sony not made films within a certain time frame.
Ergo, this film exemplifies this the most as it clearly tries to cram in so much stuff, and hastily build up to some films that never came to be. I also have to disagree with Ruff that the too many villains thing was done better here. The 3rd Maguire movie would have done better with it's villains if it focused only on two instead of the three. Whereas here Electro's turn against Spiderman is a bit rushed. It's the same with Harry becoming green goblin (the film probably should have ended with the hint that he'll become that rather than cramming that at the end just because Green Goblin is apart of Gwen's death).
Sorry if I'm long-winded here but all in all these films aren't terrible but just underwhelming, and it seems like they'll be mostly remembered as that overtime or will be. Lastly, Eric I think was asking MJ and Gwen being around the same time in the comics: yes they were, from what I understand MJ was friends with Peter and Gwen, and she only became Peter's love interest sometime after Gwen died in the comics, as it was that tragedy brought MJ and Peter closer 🤔.
Sony tried to rush and do a whole Sinister Six Universe without properly building and as a result you get the most expensive Spider-Man movie which not only didn't receive well with audiences but made the least amount of money of any live action Spider-Man movie to date. These films aren't as bad as I remember but they still aren't as good as the Toby films or the Tom Holland films
I liked the amazing films over tobeys
Enjoyable movie but there is just too much going on in this movie. They definitely tried to make a whole cinematic universe too quickly. Gwen’s death will always get me tho, and Andrew Garfield deserves to play Spider-Man forever. He’s the best.
In Berks County, Pennsylvania, people are known for not using their blinkers, driving slow in the fast/passing lanes, crossing over double yellow lines to pass you or going on the shoulder to pass you. AND NOT FOLLOWING THE ZIPPER MERGER and just sitting in the long line congesting the road, and/or blocking people in the other lane. I HATE DRIVING AND LIVING IN BERKS COUNTY SO MUCH
the movie was damned by the marketing.
Toby does in fact have 2 kids. Ruby(19) and Otis(16)
My biggest driving pet peeve is people that have no respect for the fact that a fight between a car and a pedestrian, the car wins every time. I'm originally from California and live in Colorado now, and like Boom and Ruff, I don't use crosswalks if there's no traffic, BUT, what happens here is people will cross the street no matter how busy the road is. I remember one night I was driving home from work, going from Denver to Aurora at like 9:00pm, dark as shit out, and this dude in all black just runs across the street right in front of me and honestly, I don't wanna kill a man on my home from work!
I often walk around at night in this small mountain town of mine where there's no streetlights. I ALWAYS yield to any car. Even if I'm not wearing my usual all black, it's fucking just stupid of me to assume that cars will see me and yield.
Personal responsibility when you're walking at night, ya know?
PLEASE watch Spider-man No Way Home next, it won't effect you guys watching it out of the order.
It's pretty lame of you to suggest. We've only got a couple of other MCU movies for them to get through before they get to no way home
It may be a while before we get to them, since they still have marvel shows they are slowly going through 🤔.
This was a great ride!
I'm from Australia and my pet peeve in Traffic is people who don't stay far enough away. The ones who'll be right up behind your car so your nervous about trying to slow down if your taking a turn or even going straight, or who'll merge across right in front of you so the first thing you see if the front of their car coming over as their indicator is back near your shoulder where you can't see it. Especially when you are on a road with no traffic far ahead or behind you. Just stay far enough away I'm not nervous your going to slam into my car if I have to brake suddenly or have to brake suddenly because suddenly it looks like someones about to hit the front of the car as they're used to city traffic where they have to force their way in.
High beams, lack of blinkers, and people that take 2-5 business days to make a turn. In FL, but lived most of my life in Texas
I ride a bicycle in PA. Hardly anyone uses blinkers and I've almost been hit so many times because they'll just fly through turns.
I was 13 watching this in the theater. Yes, it was 3D. This movie's outcome pissed me off to the point that I swore off of these two spider-man movies, it was very frustrating. Nowadays, I'm able to enjoy them more but.. damn. They really wanted to break hearts.
Next is the two venom movies and then No Way Home. IMO its the best MCU Spidey film. Well, Brand New Day comes next year, so we shall see. Also stay away from the Mobius film. No matter what, it is not worth it!
No you mean next is just no way home and then they're done with Sony Marvel films. If you wanted to slip in the Venom movies you shouldn't also act like there's only two when venom has his own trilogy
What is it that Gwen says in spiderverse “In every other universe, Gwen Stacy FALLS for Spider-Man and in every other universe it doesn’t end well.” Gwen dying IS a consistent and defining moment for Spider-Man.
Guys its Zen-DAY-a not Zen-DIE-a 😅. Much love.
it's killing me
I am from the UK and people don't use their blinker (we call it an indicator) and they also will use full beam when it is a little bit dark and it is infuriating
The reactions to Gwens death were EXACTLY what I expected...it's really brutal and unexpected if you didn't read the comics.
its still a shadow over the comics
In the comics it is deliberately left unknown if the web or the impact was the cause to put it more on peter
she didn’t touch the ground in the comics what are you talking about? they literally put a “SNAP” around her neck indicating it was the web that killed her
In the comics normally Gwen is Peter’s first love and while he was dating her MJ was introduced and it wasn’t until she died that Peter and MJ started dating and became the primary relationship for Spider-Man and then there’s Felicia Hardy who is Black Cat and they have an on again off again thing, but those are like the biggest primary Spider-Man love interests with other smaller ones here and there.
When the clock tower stops working, it's hands land on 1:21. Spider-Man 121 was the comic issue when Gwen died.
Yall don’t have to watch the other MCU content before it only the first 2 venom movies I believe but other than that spiders 2 has spoilers for no way home
Yes, Bree is correct with the plane situation. In order for one plane to go up it would have to apply thrust which takes time to get enough power to be able to go up, also with the planes being that close to the ground, you definitely dont want to perform a nose dive to avoid collision. If they both turn left, they have a better chance of avoiding a collision without additonal correction needing to be done
to be fair, they bit off too much with this movie
It's entertaining, but we didn't need the Sinister Six
just a lot going on
The thing with Mary Jane is yeah in the Tobey films she was written poorly. However, in the comics she was a great character/love interest. In many ways Gwen in these films act more like MJ in the comics in terms of her relationship with Peter. If you see other Spidey content, MJ can be great or bad depending on the writing. This coming from someone who is more of a Spidey x Black Cat guy lol.
Hope you check out the first two Venom movies before watching the next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. They’re fun & crazy. Lol
This movie just like Tobey’s Spider-Man 3 was filled with studio meddling cause at the time, they wanted to do a MCU for Andrew’s Spidey with sequels & spin offs. Hence why there was so many teases for things like The Sinister Six & Black Cat (Harry’s assistant). However, the film underperforming made Sony cancel everything & put Spidey in the MCU with Tom Holland. Gwen’s death is from the comics so it was bound to happen. Mary Jane was in the movie but they cut her scenes but she was gonna be in the third film had it not got cancelled.
California drivers legit are the worst, no blinkers, constant driver accidents.
I'm from Germany and if people drive slower than the speed limit it drives me nuts. Especially if it's on a part of the road where you cant overtake them.
I live in the Bay Area, I always use cross walks cause I see too many idiots using their phones or just shit drivers. In the parts I there’s a back road that gets pitch black so you gotta use high beams, problem is with modern trucks is I can’t tell if they have their high beams or regular beams sometimes cause they’re so bright already and since it’s a truck it’s pointed basically in my face through the windshield. Not using blinkers is 100% my biggest pet peeve, if there’s literally no one around then sure I guess but it’s like why wouldn’t you just do it?
People who think the YEILD sign on the roundabout is a STOP sign and come to a complete stop when there are NO FUCKING CARS IN SIGHT. It enrages me so much. East coast btw, Pennsylvania.
Fun Fact: Gwen Stacy's death is one of like 3 permanent deaths in Marvel Comics. Like Uncle Ben. Their deaths have never been undone, they are gone.
Also love how no one mentioned Black Cat being in the movie. Harry's assistant was setting the character up.
The reaction crew probably aren't familiar with the character lol 😅.
you all could watch the Deleted Scenes you know!
We need Blade 1 & 2 Watch !!!!
Tobey Spider-Man 3 was supposed to only have 2 villains but the studio forced Raimi to add venom. A character Raimi isn't even that fond of but they said "he's popular, just shove him in there."
This movie was so great in the beginning but the later half is so bad I’d say worse than spider man 3 Especially the villain designs it’s so bad 😂 at least no way home fixed electro
You guys can watch the Venom movies until No Way Home.
Technically across the spiderverse is connected because they mention something about no way home
Not a marvel movie but if you haven't seen it, Repo the Genetic Opera is a really fun watch
And there is an End credit scene but I think it was scrapped from the Final Cut but it was Peter’s Dad coming to see him while he was at Gwen Stacy’s grave.
There are a lot of deleted scenes for the ending I feel you should watch. They had a Mary Jane and somebody visiting Gwen's grave.
Today's a good day. Work was pretty relaxed, my best friend of 14 years found out she's pregnant, and now I get to sit back and watch the Sorta Stupid crew watch one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies. The story might be the most lacking of all the spidey films, but I'm a sucker for that Times Square fight scene and the Hans Zimmer score.
These movies are actually way better than I remember. I'm usually pretty critical of movies, especially superhero movies, but I didn't really see anything that was particularly offensive here?
Really? do you see no flaws 🤔?
Not arguing just asking.
I mean, it's got flaws like any other movie, but nothing that particularly stands out as being awful
Boom is the only with sports knowledge with the Kd hair joke 😂
Gwen yelling peter wasn't scripted she did in fact say it by accident
gwen was technically brought back but it was actually a clone of her
It could be an East Coast thing. For me, I'm in Connecticut and I'm walking, waiting for the cross light. When it finally popped up for me to walk, there are still people who will do the right turn on red thing. It happened to me once when a mail truck turned as I was gonna walk. It felt like there was a foot long distance between me and the truck.
Electro has the most badass villain theme ever made.
From Toronto Canada but I'm a trucker that constantly drives to Texas and back. Biggest pet peeve while driving is people who clearly got their license as a prize out of a cereal box, you know the ones
The soundtrack in this one goes hard!
Electro has the saddest motivation to become a villain, I feel so sorry to for him.
People who don’t use blinkers are the worst. Also people need to learn how to zipper merge when it’s one lane.
The fuck is a Zipper Merge????
I see no blinkers all the time and it’s annoying as hell.
Sean and Bree are evil lol
Sean smiling when Gwen died because he knew she was dead was evilly funny.
he did make that joke last movie
TAS2 was underrated and overly hated for no reason. Was it good? No was it better than the train wreck Spiderman 3? Yes.
For the Spiderman 2 game they definitely took inspiration from this movie I feel with the plot they had. This movie has the best swinging and action to me like no other Spiderman film has imo
Nearly gave myself whiplash when I saw this posted. Had to go watch it immediately 😌
Please watch Vemon movie
Bro in North Carolina every mf has their high beams on as soon as the sun sets and that genuinely makes me wanna go full John wick on their ass
Will be crying in 2 hours
Crazy how this is regarded as the worst spiderman movie even though it still has plenty of strong points. This would be considered a solid movie if it came out recently.
How would it be considered solid today? Especially since the film isn't that old 🤔.
A good amount of the swinging animations for the Insomniac game came from these 2 movies
time for the worst spiderman movie, this is gonna be a fun reaction
I'll say this movie Gwen is written better than MJ in Tobey and Tom Holland's films. And the swinging action is great and Andrew kills it with the emotional scenes especially in his Spiderman suit he ain't taking his mask off every scene like Tom Holland Spidey lol
Poor Electro he looks so bad
Electro is blue in the Ultimate Spiderman comics
Ok and??? He still looks ugly in this movie and ai’m glad they fixed him in No Way Home.
This movie is great, except for the sad musicvideo part with gone gone gone from Phillip Phillips
that part is great it fits the movie and that song is a banger.
The music just doesn't fit the situation.
Yeah most people including myself agree 🤔.
