i watched this opening weekend in theatres. it was electric, over packed theatre. cospalys, screaming. it was like a full on anime con in a small theatre room. this movie was insane. the atmosphere was next level

So basically the watch order is just watch all of Super’s arcs and than the Broly movie and than you can watch DBS Superhero.
You can basically skip a season or 2 for super since the beginning of super is just a retread of battle of gods and resurrection f (though yeh would love to see it after skipping a bit ahead)
You want cell and frieza do fusion reborn, its the one before battle of gods

The watch order for Super, in relation to what you've already seen, is
Down time: Episodes 1 through 2
Battle of Gods: Episodes 3 through 14
More down time: Episodes 15 through 18
Resurrection F: Episodes 19 through 27
All new stuff: Episodes 28 onwards.
Keeping in mind that some stuff got changed and some stuff got added in the arca based on the films, making them worth a watch, but by no means necessary. You should, however, watch the down time episodes.
Also, there's a 3 episode arc from 44 to 46 that can be considered old school style filler where nothing about it is ever story relevant and it mever ever comes up again.

You can technically binge the last super arc in 48ish minutes there's an edit because it's remake of the "5mins" the last arc takes "48" min but like 60or so episodes its no context but is a quick fun way also if you have questions after it then watch the full arc but up to you guys
I don't think you really need to watch Super to watch the other movies. There's barely any reference to any event from Super in them.

From Dragon Ball Wiki : "F" is a Japanese rock song by Japanese punk metal band Maximum the Hormone which uses Frieza's acts of genocide and oppression as allegories for the oppression of Tibet by the Chinese Government, as well as the 1995 terrorist attacks carried out by the Aum Shinrikyo cult in Tokyo.
The Song was released in 2008, 7 years before it was used in "Resurrection F" and 2 years before it was used in episode 19 of Dragon Ball Z: Abridged.
Toriyama discovered the song when he heard the band perform live, and was inspired to revisit the character. The DBZA guys discovered it online around the same time.

Well, you gotta watch all of Super before any of the two Super movies, as both Broly and Superhero takes places after the show has ended.
also dragonball super reactions would be great and to answer ruffs things with how much sense the next movie makes, TECHNICALLY the next movie is after the end of supers anime airing and even past like the next arc of the manga, and aside from like 2 references they make you dont really need any context from super to watch/enjoy the movie if youve seen revival of F since theres nothing fundamentally new and the main focus is introducing a new character, the newest movie dragonball super heroes is the same thing if youve seen the movie before it then you can watch super heroes with little to no context gaps
Im so excited you guys are watching this. In terms of timeline, the next two movies take place after the rest of Super. So if you guys want to watch them with the bit of context you would need to watch Super. There isn't much from the series that leaks into the last 2 movies so it's up to you but figured I would answer that question.
Man haven't watched this movie in a while, so RIP Chris Ayers, Frieza's VA, who died a little over 2 years ago...first time i've rewatched something with him in it since then
yeah to answer boom and what happened with gohan dragonball Z was originally supposed to END entirely at namek but demand for the series was so high that toriyama was convinced into writing more and when he wrote the cell saga he wanted gohan to be the shift of focus and so thats why he made him the main hero of that saga UNFORTUNATELY it worked against him and goku in the cell saga was SO popular that people just wanted more goku so toriyama was forced to shifting gohan back into a supporting roll and the only way he could reasonably do that was to basically make gohan stop training altogether because of the simple fact that gohan has always been the one with the most potential and explosive power making him stop entirely was the only believable way to drop him back into a supporting role
See the thing is Toriyama had also stated he wasn't confident in Gohan taking the mantle of earth's hero. So he himself also got cold feet and made Goku the hero again, wasn't entirely due to fan demand.
It really goes to show Frieza's potential that with 4 months of training, which he has never done before in his life and likely every inefficient, he was able to achieve a level of power on par or close to SSB. Which is hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions or even billions of times stronger than where Goku was at, at the end of the Namek Saga.

Dragon ball super hero is like 3 years later and a decent chunk further into the manga.

So as far as Dragon Ball Super: Broly, I believe it is set after the Tournament of Power, which is the ending arc of Dragon Ball Super.
You CAN watch broly after this because it only mentions an event and character from the anime but it doesn't need any context from it to make sense or keep up. You all probably know the character mentioned and the arc he appears in already. It does take place after the end of super but it's basically it's own standalone story continuing afterwards. It will spoil something regarding one particular character but I don't think it's a major spoiler. I would watch it.

I dont know if you guys realized it but the song playing when Frieza is being regenerated on the Frieza ship is the song DBZ Abridged used as Friezas ringtone on his scouter in the episode where the Ginyu Force first arrived. Its just funny they used it before Resurrection F came out
The next two movies you'll have to finish all of Super to watch them because they do mention stuff that happens late into Super and I recommend to jump to episode 28 because the first 27 episodes are retellings of Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F movie, so that they can made canon.
Since you have now watched these two movies, I believe you guys can now start on Dragon Ball Super: Episode 28 and then you guys just need to watch through to the end of the Anime which is episode 131 before you can watch the Dragon Ball Super movies to avoid spoilers.
One last thing I forgot to mention. I love how Android 18 legitimately thinks Krillin is cool. Despite how much people in the series and outside it mock him, she thinks he’s cool. Truly shows her love for him.
I still hope you all react to the HFIL series at some point. It’s the spin-off of DBZ Abridged made by the same people.
So Daima isn’t really them going chibi, it’s more like taking them back to their OG DB roots (while also making some of the characters who were already teens or adults at the time also kids). It’s a 40th anniversary series Toriyama is making which is probably why they’re becoming younger.
Also Seeohknee saying ‘Magic doesn’t belong in Dragon Ball’ ? Magic has been constantly shown throughout the franchise. The main characters just don’t use it but others do.

So the Guardian of Earth thing they mentioned. Shenron was talking about when Goku got Dende and brought him to be the guardian. Dende upgraded Shenron back then.

Well, the movies cover Episodes 1 to 27 then the new arc begins. Without these 27 episodes, Super is 104 episodes. The Super movies take place after the full anime. I hope you guys give it a watch.
Dragon Ball Super Broly takes places after the anime finished, because they talk about things that happened during the anime. So you guys would have to watch the anime (minus the fillers and the episodes that were made from Battle of the Gods and Resurrection F) before watching the two Super Movies.
It's weird that Freeza mentions earth's hell, when according to DragonBall the afterlife of both heaven and hell combined is as big as an entire universe, and their universe, universe 7, is as big as almost 10 times our real life universe. So I think Freeza would end up in the same place regardless
Due to Akira Toriyama being more involved with the series for Super, this part of Hell was drastically changed to a scenic, flowery field with trees and named Earth's Hell
So are we going straight into the last two movies after this one because if so I'm hyped.
I for one would love ya'll to watch super and the super movies especially the superhero movie it's a wonderful journey with arguably some of the best fights in all of dragonball

I gotta say, while I really enjoy the first half of this movie the 2nd half really doesn't hold up as how I remembered, I can't stand the lazy introduction of Super Saiyan Blue and Golden Frieza no matter how many pretty visuals they give it, robbing Vegeta of his win against Frieza, and the dumbest butt pull of Whis rewinding time. The ending is just so highly questionable.

I honestly liked the Dragonball Super adaptation of this arc better. This movie feels rushed in comparison.
Some of it handled it better storywise but overall I'd still say the arc was horrible. And I don't just mean the animation which I don't hold against it due to the horrible treatment of animators with week long time tables sometimes.
The characters in Dragonball will always be as strong as they need to be. There will always be a plot device that helps. Be it a Senzu Bean, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, The Dragon Balls, the Super Saiyan God Ritual that they performed in the last movie, and now they're being trained by the person that trains a God. The reasons for the strength increases might not always be the most satisfying but, in all honesty, I'm fine with that. Dragonball never pretended to be deep anyway. It has always been simple since the beginning and that's what makes it great because it's very easy to understand and get into.
Dende is why they have 2 wishes, Kami got absorbed by Piccolo and during the 7 days before the Cell Games Goku went and brought Dende as a replacement, he upgraded the Dragon Balls to grant 3 wishes, but a mass revival wish means you only get 2 wishes that time, just cause it's such a big wish.

The song, which is called F by Maximum the Hormone that played during Frieza's resurrection inspired Akira Toriyama to make both the concept and the title of the film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’.
Its been a while for them, but that same song was referenced DragonballZ Abridged Season 2.
