Did they forget about the episode ( Flirting with Disaster ) where Danny is going to give Valerie a class ring as a way of making them an official couple but she ends up rejecting him before he can even ask. I assumed that was the end of that story line. I could be wrong.
Yeah like I'm pretty sure that wrapped up their relationship/interest in each other fairly well. I don't see what else they'd do if they already resolved not to romantically pursuit each other. Now Danny and Sam are likely going to be a thing the show moves towards (I haven't watched the next episode yet but just assuming).

As much as I love Danny Phantom I've always felt like it was too short for example they set up a whole arc of potential with this episode alone with Val learning Dani's & Vlad's secret, then the next episode is the series finially don't get me wrong as a Finialy it works but it feels too soon after everything crazy that happened this season
I mean they did have a plot planned for that season with Val its just that Nickelodeon told them they wanted to cancel and that they had to choose between a longer season with no finale or a short cut off season with a finale. Butch Hartman didnt wanna end the show without a finale so he chose the cut off route.
Nah even as a finale it's pretty weak in its execution tbh. Least to me, so many characters feels so out of character and the last like 5 minutes are just full of "Really? THAT'S how they conclude x or y plot thread?"
Always found it weird how Danny's Ice powers are just completely absent in this episode. very fun watch still tho!
