      Yeah, I mean its literally like the therapist said. Their family uses intelligence to justify sickness. Jerry was the dumbest character, and the lighting rod. When he left, everyone had to deal with their own sickness because they couldn't take it out on Jerry. Rick became the patriarchy but since everything is meaningless to him, he could get himself to take care of the family emotionally. Beth is so much denial about her father, her own character and Jerry's place in her life that she just let her kids do whatever the fuck. But, when Jerry was alone, he grew somewhat. If fact, Jerry was paramount in changing the family dynamic as we just saw. I honestly think people should be somewhat harder on Beth, because despite all the intelligence she has she is still a terrible mother while Jerry's excuse is that he is an idiot.

      Yeah i don't think he cares what you define as toxic masculinity and frankly he shouldn't because this is just a case of semantics and YOU are watching HIS reactions, so either suck it up or stop watching because he is probably not going to change his word choice anytime soon, and if he does it won't be because of you.

         A character can be unlikeable as a person and still be someone's favorite as a character.

         And Jerry doesn't try to hold the family together for the sake of the family itself, but to preserve his little comfort bubble so he doesn't have to try to put an actual effort into becoming a better person.

       I think it's because he's awful in a mundane relatable way. Whereas everyone else is so exceptional that their awful qualities aren't as grounded as Jerry's are
