This show is my husband's childhood and when he wanted to share it with me this summer I thought I wasn't gonna like it. I was delightfully wrong and have watched everything from the beginning. I really enjoyed GT, not in the same way as I loved everything else, but I respect the story we were given, I especially loved the message at the end of it. The characters are so fun that I really can't complain about what is happening, I am just happy that we get more time with them.

The dragon ball super movies are canon. Battle of gods and resurrection of F were recreated in the dragon ball super anime, with some slight alterations in story telling and admittedly, with some sketchy animations at first but they fixed that
Its been a while since I've watched GT but I'm not the biggest fan of it. I like some things from it but overall its not my favorite, but what I think people should do if they have never seen GT is they should watch it and see if they like it or not and not just hate on it like some do. Yes its non canon but its a side story, just think of it as an alternate universe/timeline where super never happened. People shouldn't hate on it because its non canon, the movies aren't canon yet they are awesome. Also as for Super and these movies, you could just watch the 2 movies then watch what happens after in the show but the show actually changes some things (some good some not needed but still). I remember I wasn't too excited when Super was coming out and they were retelling the 2 movies (I wanted new stuff lol) but some of the stuff they change and add in are cool.
Are they planning on watching any of the other Pokemon movies? The gen 4 movies are probably the best and I really wanna see them react to them...

Saw both this and Ressurection of F in theaters, was so hype and awesome to be in a theater full of DBZ fans for both these movies!~
And on the subject of DBGT, it's not so much that it was bad, because the biggest strength that GT had was it had a LOT of really interesting ideas and concepts it introduced and tried to play with but ultimately ended up executing basically all of them in a very poor manner. MasakoX, the Abridged Goku, has some GREAT videos exploring exactly what went wrong on his channel.
1. Dragon Ball GT is better than it’s given credit for. I enjoy it more than Super as a fan of Z, though it’s just preference. Worth a watch for Boom if he really enjoys the IP.
2. You should watch the next movie and skip to episode 28 of Super. The first two arcs of Super are just horrible retellings of these two movies. Bad animation, decent acting, just better to skip them for the movies that had a higher budget.
I'd be down to keep watching these newer DBZ movies. I just really had a fun time with DBZ Super Superhero, so I'm hoping we get to that one with yall one day! ?

Also don’t worry, most fans agree that present Trunks/Mai is a horrible idea for a pairing since one is 41 in a kids body and the other is a kid. Luckily, only Trunks likes her and she doesn’t return the feelings. ? I mean seriously, she’s older than his mother.
So really the thing is Vegeta’s brother was already introduced in the anime, so that was more a reference to the special they introduced him in. It’s, Yo! Son Goku and Friends Return. It takes place before this movie. His brother’s name is Tarble. ?
Okay so Super is actually this movie, next movie, 6 vs 7 Tournament, Black, Tournament of Power.
And the reason these two movies are Z and not Super is because Super came out after the next movie and they just made the movies into episodes to waste time for the Super manga to make new arcs.
I hope Boom continues watching Z so he can see the End of Z episodes (they’re like the last 2 or 3 episodes of Z)

The majority of the fan base agree, watch the two last Dbz movies and start Dragon Ball Super at episode 28. ?
There are several reasons why GT is horrible, the first one is turning Goku into a kid again (not to mention he is the only one doing all the work yes, Super technically does that, but at least Vegeta and now Gohan and Piccolo have most likely joined them since they also got unique transformations in Super while Vegeta was excluded though most of GT, first arc I understand since he was being taken over by Baby, but the other two arcs is a no he got his ass kicked in the second arc while he only helped in the final fight in the last arc), second being each arc was poorly executed (although the first and last arc had pretty good concepts), but the one that is most unforgivable (at least for me) is how they did both Uub and Pan dirty, Pan was basically Goku's cheerleader throughout GT, and Uub oh poor Uub he was supposed to be the next protector of the Earth, (which is why Goku decided to train him at the end of Z and why we see them training at the beginning of GT), the dude merges back with Fat Buu gets one major fight against Baby and after that he quickly becomes a side character and doesn't do anything for the rest of GT, the only good thing that came out of GT was Super Saiyan 4.
At least Uub exists, unlike in Dragon Ball Super, where his existence is hinted at, but he's never shown. I liked Pan and Trunks adventure, but yeah Kid goku being there is weird. And, the best part of Dragon Ball GT is that the dragon balls actually have a downside where when they are used they release toxic energy that can gather in the form of evil dragons.
The first major arc of GT is the most hated, everything else is actually pretty beloved, I think GT was supposed to be canon until it got bad reception, super is technically its replacement
Super Saiyan 4 is still a neat looking design though, I'd say.

There is a list of anime you only watch with the English dub and Dragon Ball is always part of that list
Though I will admit with how funimation and some of these voice actors treated vic mignogna its extremely tempting to no longer listen to the English voices

Because anything DB related is better dubbed, thats why and Goku sounds like a grandma/ hasn't hit puberty yet in Japanese.

During DBZA they talked bout how Goku sounded like a grandma in the sub, but they simply don't understand Masako Nozawa is phenomenal as Goku.
Agreed, Nozawa is amazing. She is somehow able to age Goku's character over his whole life, while keeping that childlike touch.
