Honestly jelly on a sandwich is kinda underrated, I remember as a kid seeing this episode and I started putting jelly on sausage biscuits and it was divine

Yeah season 4 feels like a way too early cut off. I watched SpongeBob all the way straight until season 9 and that’s when they had that huge gap of not much happening. I’m pretty sure that season started in 2012 and ended in like 2017 and that’s probably about when I just couldn’t really enjoy most of the new episodes as much. I think what throws me off with the new SpongeBob is the over animation they use. I’m also curious if y’all use the dvds cause of the episode from season 3 that’s banned.

I think Chowder would be a good watch. It’s another nonsense cartoon but very funny. Or Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, which the creators of Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Regular Show worked on and basically started the 2010’s golden era

I stopped watching as a kid at some point during season 6, and I can attest that there was definitely a decline in quality after the movie that even a child could notice. There were many episodes I flat out thought were bad and the general vibe of the show had changed, and I couldn’t figure out why.

I think yall should react beyond season 3 and the movies. I don't remember every single episode, but I know there's still some bangers scattered around the future seasons

I am late to reply but I still remember first seeing the fry cook games episode when I was young and even then wishing that Spongebob would reply to Patrick's 'these were white when I bought them' with 'so were mine'

Erik- why don’t they just work at the chum bucket?

Me: uh did you forget that he put SpongeBob’s brain in a damn robot? And still couldn’t get what he wanted? Yeah nothing would change lmao

The creator and most of the crew left after season 3 and the movie, so it is certainly very different from season 4 on.

If you turn off autoplay next episode in the settings it should resolve the issue. Got on my nerves too.

I am so excited for you guys to watch the movie as well as the others. I will admit season 3 is better, but Season 4 and 5 are also great. Although, as long as you keep reacting to Spongebob, I will keep watching those vids.

Stephen Hillenburg was born at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. I remember being really surprised to learn that since I've been through there a couple of times in my youth!

I say keep watching till season 5. after that the good episodes are far and few in-between. But after spongebob i say watch either Bobs Burgers or if do you want something more serious but with comedy still: i say watch Scrubs or Ted lasso! such good shows!

I watched up until season 12 and I can say fur sure that they have amazing and VERY iconic episodes, one of them is even the Garry episode in season 4, or living like larry in season 6.

Thats really good even after the ''Golden era''

Season 4 is still a good watch. Skill Cane, Wishing Well, Krabby Land, Gary runs away.

When SpongeBob initially ran on Nickelodeon I was in the target audience and my fondness for later episodes dropped off pretty significantly. I’m sure they are still good episodes here and there but there isn’t hit after hit. Also I think the episodes start to look objectively worse than season 2 and 3. That I remember pretty distinctly. Up until that point in my life I always assumed newer episodes of any cartoon show would start looking better over time but this was the first time I saw a cartoon decline visually. Not so much in the animation but with the character designs and in other little ways that are hard to explain. They got worse in my opinion.

I kept watching SpongeBob all the way up to season 9 and after that I stopped, not because I disliked it, but I felt that I was getting too old for SpongeBob at that time.

Ya can never get too old for Spongebob. I'd watch further more often, but I am adulting.

I think they should continue up to season 9 as well. And after that maybe they can watch the second movie.

I believe the movie was supposed to be the canonical end of SpongeBob so I think it’d be a great place to stop with the show since after that it starts to go down hill especially after the creator left, If I remember correctly season 4 isn’t terrible but tbh anything after that is meh at best and complete garbage at worst and the show is still airing new episodes to this day I believe, so in my opinion the movie would be a great end to the SpongeBob react saga

I suggest continuing after season 3 and the movie. There are still iconic episodes that are really worth watching. It'll be interesting for you guys to go into unfamiliar territory.

So the problem I had with later seasons were they just rehashed old episode stories but made them worse

i grew up watching season 1 up to 10 and i can confidently say that the quality does dip after the first 3 seasons before the movie, after the creator leaves. i think season 4 and 5 are still enjoyable but seasons 6 - 8 are considered the dark age to many while everything after is branded as Modern Spongebob.

The thing is Spongebob goes through different writing formats, with the modern seasons being script driven while the original seasons were storyboard driven. i would honestly suggest watching a random modern episode for comparison. Overall i dont mind more spongebob, but the first seasons are just considered the golden era for both millennials and gen z (which i am)because of their witty writing and great timing, rather than mainly slapstick humor like the recent season.

Yes honestly after 1-4 i remember enjoying, season 5 and up starts to change which is for those that may have wanted something different for the show.. it’s just not the same though. I had season 4’s disk so after that it was a blur, but definitely 10/10 episode’s ?

Also alot of the characterizations changed after the creator left. Especially Patrick

You should really watch the first movie after season 3
